June Roundup

In June…

  • We celebrated National Doughnut Day
  • We took about 1,200 photos
  • I wrote 14 blog posts.
  • We continued unpacking from the move, finally finishing the week before Little Man came. (except the closet… we won’t talk about that) I found a lot of cool stuff while unpacking, including red sheets and a keychain from Paris.
  • I made 6 layouts, plus several Project Life pages.
  • We watched a lot of movies on Netflix and from our collection- One Saturday we watched a Twilight Stars movie marathon. This was actually Jason’s idea. He set forth the theory that some of them can actually act, if given the right movies. The jury’s still out.The Yellow Handkerchief was pretty good. There was a slightly awkward Kristen Stewart, but it fit the role. Welcome to the Riley’s was surprisingly good. I think Kristen Stewart should play a stripper in every movie. She cursed a lot. And was good at it. How to Be was rough. Sorry Robert Pattison. It was terrible. That same day we started watching The Living Wake. I was really liking it, but fell asleep. While I slept Jason watched What’s Up Tiger Lily? And Killer Elite. I woke up in time for part of The Warrior’s Way. That was enough testosterone for one day, so I finished off the night with Lost in Austen, which I really enjoyed. So yeah, eight movies in one day. And we veered off the original Twilight cast theme. But a nice day of movies overall.
  • We also watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and 2
  • We ate at China Queen, which was pretty tasty.
  • We saw Snow White and the Huntsman at the theater. It was beautiful, but a waste of Charlize Theron.
  • I wrote about Organizing Blog Trains
  • Jason was still settling in at his new job. He learned so much and was/is doing an amazing job with everything. So proud of him!
  • I listened to a ton of podcasts- Frame Rate, iPad Today, Pop Stuff, Stuff You Should Know, Stuff Mom Never Told You, Tech News Today, Stuff to Blow Your Mind, and Stuff You Missed in History Class. I also re-listened to a lot of Digi Show episodes.
  • We watched E3 coverage on the XBox.
  • We watched TV on Netflix and Hulu- SNL, America’s Got Talent, American Ninja Warrior, Pregnant in Heels, Next Food Network Star, Eureka, Chopped, and House Hunters.
  • We watched the Apple Developers Conference keynote. They showed new Macbook Pros and features of the new Mountain Lion OS and iOS6.
  • I read Wicked Appetite, and The Windsor Knot.
  • Antoine and Heidi came over one night. We sat and talked for a long time about movies. Nice evening and glad to finally have them over to our new place.
  • Jason started listening to audiobooks! He read the first two Hunger Games books.
  • I (re)learned how to use my WireTap Studio program.
  • I continued building my Tiny Tower
  • My sister’s house caught on fire. She will probably be living with Dad for about six months while repairs are being made.
  • We ate at Taco Bell and I got to try the Doritos taco thingy, which I loved.
  • I chatted with Stacey Julian on the 12th for the Twelve class.
  • I spent a lot of time crying.
  • I drank a lot of hot chocolate.
  • We flew to L. A. to pick up the Little Man!
  • We ate Pizza at LM’s favorite pizza place, Magoo’s
  • Then ate more pizza at Beach Pizza.. for two nights in a row.
  • We went to the Griffith Observatory, but didn’t go in.
  • We ate breakfast at the Gaffey Street Diner and had doughnuts at Randy’s
  • We toured the S. S. Lane Victory
  • We got to show off the new place for the first time when we got home.
  • We played a lot of soccer and football
  • We ate a lot of strawberries, blueberries, and mango
  • Little Man got reacquainted with Miss Kitty
  • I taught LM how to make scrambled eggs with cheese.
  • I went one month with no soda.
  • We visited Green Cay Park
  • We bought a lot of fresh produce at the Boy’s Market
  • I wrote out a Summer Manifesto
  • I really enjoyed spending time with Little Man during the day, doing crafty things, playing Angry Birds, and generally getting to know him.
  • LM and I made a Superhero Father’s Day for Daddy
  • LM was really into making comics
  • We made basil lemonade.
  • Jason and LM made an ostrich robot.
  • We went to the comic book store and the RC car store.
  • We went swimming.
  • Little Man started listening to audiobooks too. I’m on a roll here with converting them 🙂 He read the first couple of Magic Treehouse books.

What a month!
