Layout-astic!

This is a pretty big day for one of my favorite designers! Michelle, formerly of Partners In Crime, has now opened up a new store at Scrapbook Bytes under her origional design name, Ohana Designs. I’m happy to get to work with her kits again. Here are some other LO’s I’ve made with Michelle and Mara’s kits last year.

And here are a couple of new LO’s to kick things off with.

I love the cute Spring Is Here kit. The bird elements reminded me of a story I’ve wanted to scrap for a really long time.

Journaling reads- We say “Chirp” a lot in my family. Chirp can mean anything from a greeting to an affirmation. We often begin conversations with “Chirp”. “Chirp” can be used in place of ”yes” as well. It can also be a non-responsive answer. For example, if you are asked “Did you eat all the cookies?”, an appropriate response could be “Chirp!” It’s a sort of non-answer, like pleading the fifth.

The Sewing Junkie kit has a mix of lovely textured papers and vintage sewing elements. Unfortunately I don’t sew (one day!), so I decided to talk about my one and only homemade Halloween costume. No pics of me wearing it, but I did have a couple of my sister. Love that big smile and her adorable curls! (She’s totally going to be pissed that I’m posting these pics, but I don’t care… muwahaha)

Journaling reads- Mom made me a princess costume for Halloween one year. Jamie loved to dress up in it when she was small.

And here is one more layout. Sometimes you just want to make a pretty page with pretty product. I think I want to eventually make this into a double page LO with journaling, but for now I like it as is. I’ve been really inspired lately by stories of my grandparents. I want to add several more pages about extended family members to my books.

Mandy also has a fabulous new grab bag releasing today for iNSD. Here’s my layout using Joy Seeker. The kit colors were fantastic with the Statue of Liberty picture from our trip to New York last week. I really like the mix of green with the patriotic red white and blue.
