I thought I was going to beat Week Eleven’s record, but I “only” managed seven pages this time. We took a couple thousand pictures the week Jason’s dad was with us. It took me over a week to sort through them all! But it’s all finished and I’m super happy to have this week documented.
I used a combination of photos around the house and photos I took with the Collect app for the first page.
Journaling reads- Jason’s dad came to visit us for a few days this week so the early part of the week we were busy prepping the house and doing a little decorating. We had a nice time showing him around town. He and I made pierogi on Friday. Saturday we went to Miami and the Keys. Sunday was full of drama, but we managed to squeeze in some beach time and lots of tasty food.
This is the kind of week that would have completely stalled me last year. I’m really bad at getting those “big” weeks into Project Life. I think for this week in particular, blogging about the things we did was a huge help. I had already picked out a lot of my favorites to share here, so I had a jumpstart on things. The second page pictures came straight from my pierogi post.
Pages 3 and 4 are some favorites from Little Havana and the Keys.
Page 5 shows our very favorite restaurant in Key Largo and the amazing sunset.
Pages 6 and 7 are from Sunday, which was our last full day with Jason’s dad. We went to a couple of beaches, but they looked pretty messed up compared to the last couple of times we were there with my sister and by ourselves. Tons of seaweed and some trash, which is pretty unusual from our experience.
The last page has photos from the rest of Sunday,
Journaling reads- Leftover pierogi for breakfast, doughnuts for lunch, and Lefty’s for dinner. And in the middle of all that we played Left, Center, Right and got locked in our bedroom.
A few observations-
Like I said above, I think blogging our adventures really helps me to break down big events into more manageable chunks. Already having my favorites edited, starred, and ready to go made filling these pages much easier.
Though I didn’t utilize the Collect app as much as I’d wanted to this week, it fits really well with my aesthetic this year, so I definitely want to use that more.
I’m happy to have a few go-to template designs each week. I thought it would be boring, but I love having one less thing to think about. Every week I use the Design A-type template for most pages, with the 6 or 9 photo templates for “special events”.
I want to go back and add captions to a few of my pages, especially for making note of places. A lot of the beaches look the same down here, so I might need help differentiating between them.
And I guess that’s about it! This week will be pretty Project Life heavy as I work on tying up loose ends and getting ready for the summer. Thanks for stopping by 🙂
