Simple Scrapper LO’s for January 2016

I loved this month’s templates for the Simple Scrapper members! They are such classic clean designs that can be used over and over again. I used a prompt from last January to talk about some of our upcoming travel plans for 2016. (I made this page back in November, so some of these have already changed).

For my second page I chose a pocket page design. I’ve been doing that quite a bit lately when I have a lot to say. It’s fun mixing different fonts on the same page. I changed up this month’s prompt a little, but the spirit is the same- reminding myself of some of the important lessons I’ve learned… and re-learned… over the years.

New Releases for February 1st

I have lots of pages to share today, so let’s get rolling!

First up are my LO’s for Simple Scrapper. I love that the monthly themes help me go beyond scrapping events, and tell different kinds of stories. I feel like I stretch myself with each one.

2015-01-18 favorite web

Journaling reads- My favorite parts of the day- watching the news together in the morning, because we’ve only been able to do that this past year. Snuggling with miss kitty after Jason leaves, because she’s only been doing that recently after years of standoffishness. Curling up together before we fall asleep, because we’ve done it for years and will do it for many more.

Journaling reads- You make me cry every time you give me a card or letter. I know to grab tissue before I even open it. I can’t help it, your words mean so much to me.

Mandy has a sweet new release today called Touch the Sky, which I used to scrap another  Louisiana road trip page. I love that I kept notes along the way, or I totally would have forgotten about these little details.

Journaling reads-
I-75 Northbound
Car talk- Once Upon a Time, Taylor Swift, fall colors.
Seen- cows, Adult Superstore, the jerk who was tailgating us get pulled over by the police.

As soon as I saw February’s Monthly Mix at GingerScraps, I knew exactly what I wanted to scrap, staying with Melissa last year.

Best Friends collab by the Gingerbread Ladies (kit and template)

Journaling reads- Melissa let us crash at her house while we were in town for Jon’s memorial service. It was great seeing her, even though it was for a sad reason. We stayed up late talking, and we got to meet Aaliyah for the first time. February 1, 2014

One more from the Best Friends Monthly Mix, this time using one of the templates. I loved the cards from the Honeymoon collection, so I let those stand in for a title and journaling.

Simple Scrapper LO’s for January

2014-01-10 Tree down web

Welcome to 2015! Here are my pages inspired by January Simple Scrapper Premium membership materials.

The first tells the story of my Christmas tree procrastination. I know some people like taking them down early, but I like to extend the season as long as possible! Although this year we had Christmas in June too, so my need to keep it up an extra month might be tempered a bit. We’ll see…

Journaling reads- I like to keep the Christmas tree up longer than most people. It doesn’t happen every year, but ideally I like to keep it up until around my birthday in February. It sounds weird, but I like to stretch the season out as long as I can.

2014-03-31 Coral Springs web

My second page talks about how excited we were to move to Coral Springs. I love the journal card with the row of houses. I feel like the past few months have shown me over and over how much I have to be grateful for living here and being able to spend so much more time together.

Journaling reads- Moving from West Palm to Coral Springs was the opportunity for a fresh start. We were so excited to explore a new town. We loved our new apartment. We loved all the parks. Most of all we were excited to have more time together. No more two hour a day commute!

December Simple Scrapper layout share.

heidi web

I’m excited to share my first two pages for the Simple Scrapper CT! I have to say, looking through the back catalog of templates and Story Starters was tough- so many awesome designs and prompts to chose from. 🙂

My first page used one of this month’s templates. I changed it up a bit to fit my theme and style. I used an older Story Starter to tell the story of meeting our friend Heidi. I’ve asked Jason to write out a bit of journaling for me about how he met Antoine, and I’m hoping to put them side by side in my People We Love LOM album.

Journaling reads-  I still remember the first time we met Heidi. Jason and Antoine had been friends for years, and we were excited to finally meet this special lady we’ve heard so much about. She was so quiet, I think she said barely five words all afternoon! It’s been a lot of fun getting to know her over the past couple of years. Now she’s just as talkative and crazy as the rest of us! It was an honor to photograph her getting ready for her big day.

Here’s another page I made last month for their wedding.

hp magic web

For my second page, I used one of December’s prompts with an older template. This page tells the story of our first trip to Hogwart’s.

Journaling reads- Jason and I are huge Harry Potter fans. When we heard that HP was coming to Universal Studios, we knew we HAD to go. We made plans to stay the weekend in Orlando a few days after the opening, in June 2010. The line was insane, winding all through the park. And that was just the line to get into the town of Hogsmeade. That doesn’t count the lines for rides. It was SO worth it though! Seeing Hogwarts for the first time was something that I’ll never forget. We actually didn’t mind the line so much once we got close to the school because there were so many interesting details to look at. The greenhouse was very cool, and the interior of the school was amazing! The ride was almost secondary to the feeling you got of actually being inside Hogwarts! It’s been almost five years, and we’ve been a couple more times, but I still get giddy thinking about that first time. For me, the magic of Harry Potter beats out the magic of Disney any day!

Here’s another HP page I made, from a different visit. This is totally making me want to visit Universal again!
